Three Nominations at NISA 2025 for Outstanding Set Design
The talented artist and art director Fatou Kandé Senghor once again shines on the African audiovisual scene with three prestigious nominations at the NISA 2025 (Nuits Internationales des Séries Awards). Her outstanding work in set design for the series Obatanga – Season 2, Cacao – Season 2, and 220 Logement has been recognized by the jury.

As Art Director, Fatou oversees costumes, set design, and props. She surrounds herself with young African talents, bringing together Ivorian professionals as well as other creatives from across the continent, in order to share her expertise and promote local skills.

Each of these three projects embodies a unique vision of narrative aesthetics:

🎬 Obatanga – Season 2
A striking visual immersion into a world deeply rooted in the social and cultural realities of the continent. The sets, both realistic and poetic, perfectly support the evolution of the characters and storylines.

🎬 Cacao – Season 2
An intense series in which subtle and immersive set designs highlight social tensions and power dynamics. In this production, Fatou Kandé Senghor delivers a spatial composition that enhances both the narrative and the sense of place.

🎬 220 Logement
A sensitive tribute to popular architecture and collective memory. This project stands out for its minimalist yet deeply meaningful set design, which becomes a true character in its own right within the narrative.

These three nominations reflect Fatou Kandé Senghor’s sharp artistic vision and her ability to create cohesive, vibrant, and visually powerful worlds.

“Creating a set is writing without words. It means giving a soul to space so that the story can breathe,” she shares.
